During the match, Ishant took down five wickets which were ninth in test to help India get back into a strong position till day three at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Roston Chase (48 off 74), John Campbell (23 off 30), Daren BRAVO (18 of 27), Shai Hope (24 off 65) and Shimron Hetmyer (35 off 47) were the players to start over the match with a promising hit. They were held guilty to throw off the hit away and help India to regain.

India started the match with a bolt at 203 for six which went on till 297 as a fighting jack with duo Rajendra Jadeja as a supporter to Ishant Sharma. They both ably had the back of each other during the 60-run stand for the eighth wicket. Next hours till the lunchtime the pressure remained constant within the West Indies team when Jadeja and Ishant started the 60-run stand for the eighth wicket to reach the 297 goals. Shami, though he joined Jadeja couldn’t last after a ball. Jadeja too showed some up-level games during the match while collecting partners not so suitable, completed his 11th half-century with a flourishing style at the end putting the team into a firm place.
