Proving the caliber and “Regrouping” and “Rebuilding” of team
Apart from KL Rahul, we have to look out for a few other players as well. Rohit Sharma will under scanner for a number of sixes he hit. Indian Vice Captain is going to crush Chris Gayle’s record of hitting a number of sixes in T20’s. Presently he has 102 sixes under his belt in 94 matches. He is mere 3 sixes short of breaking the record. This will be walking in the park for him and with the form, he is in he can get the work done in no time.
Virat Kohli has backed young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and has said that this WI tours will be teaching and giving him the confidence for the matches to come. He also added that this is the absolute right time to “unleash” and showcase his true potential, also player like Manish Pandey and Shreyas Iyer need to come up and showcase their talent to stake their claim for a position in the team.
These coming couple of weeks are very crucial for the player like them to prove their part, as the middle order is very brittle in this Indian side. Apart from players proving their prowess, it is high time for the Indian team to strengthen their middle order as for a long time they have dependant on the top order to gather runs or they have relied on their bowlers to take wickets and win the match thereafter.
Therefore, one of the main reason for this series is to “Regroup” and “Rebuild” team after a semifinal loss in the World Cup 2019 against New Zeland. This series and upcoming Test Championship will be the key tournaments for youngsters to cement their positions in the team and prepare for the next world T20 event next year. It is highly advisable for the Indian team to go back to the drawing board and begin rebuilding work and work really hard to give a thumping came back at the bigger events which are to follow.
