Satwiksairaj and Chirag failed to take on 1 no. world player in China Open

Chirag  Shetty and Satwilsairaj Ranikireddy gave a strong tussel, but failed against the best duo of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo in China open 2019.

Chirag and Satwilsairaj stepped out of the china open 2019 semi- finals after  losing 16-21, 20-22 to the world no. 1 pair of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo from Indonesia on Saturday.  The Indian duo gave a good fight, particularly in the second game, but that was not enough against Indonesian pair.  Chirag and Satwilsairaj started well in both the games but Gideon and Sukamuljo manifest why they are considered best team in the world.

In the very first game, the Indian players took lead of 7-4 but Indonesian took straight lead of 5 points, from where Indian players could not recover.

The second set of game was way harder than the first one. Satwiksairaj and Chirag won first 2 points. No team took lead of more than 1 point.

The semi final remained neck to neck till the Indian players took a 10-8 lead, but the Indonesian drew the level. They tried to win a point again before the Indian duo took important lead of 16-14.

They kept the 2 point lead till 18-16 on the other hand Indonesians made a comeback with 19-18.   Both the teams fought hammers and tongs, with 20-20 Gideon and Sukamuljo  won two quick points to lock their spot in the finals of china open 2019.

The Indian players were also defeated by the same duo in French open final last month.
