In a recent valedictory service held at Redeemer’s International Leadership Academy (RILA) in Lagos, Dr. Stella Mofunanya, the Rector of Redeemer’s College of Technology and Management (RECTEM), urged the academy’s graduands to embrace technology in their leadership roles. Highlighting the importance of creativity and innovation, Dr. Mofunanya emphasized that adopting technological advancements is crucial for achieving significant accomplishments in various fields, including ministry, business, and community service.
Embracing Innovation in Leadership
Dr. Mofunanya stressed that creativity and innovation are essential for transforming Christian ministry in contemporary society. By integrating technology, leaders can revitalize worship, engage communities more effectively, and enhance discipleship. She encouraged the graduands to remain bold and innovative, allowing the boundless creativity of their Creator to guide them. The rector also pointed out that innovative solutions, such as mobile health clinics and educational workshops, can significantly improve the quality of life for communities.
The importance of technology in leadership extends beyond the church walls. Effective ministry involves addressing local needs through community service projects, such as poverty eradication, education, and healthcare. These initiatives exemplify Christ’s love in action and demonstrate the practical impact of embracing technology in leadership roles.
The Role of Technology in Achieving Success
During the valedictory service, Dr. Mofunanya highlighted the achievements of RILA, noting that the academy had trained and graduated over five thousand leaders who have excelled in various spheres of life, including politics, ministry, and the corporate world. She emphasized that not much can be accomplished in ministry and business without adopting innovation and technology. By embracing these tools, leaders can drive progress and transformation in their respective fields.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, represented by the Assistant Continental Overseer, Research and Development, Josiah Bolarinwa, also addressed the graduands. He charged them to apply what they had learned in their leadership roles and to pass on the legacy of the Christian faith. Adeboye underscored the critical role of leadership in solving problems and providing direction to followers.
Preparing for Future Leadership Challenges
Pastor Banky Ladile, the Rector of RILA, spoke about the academy’s mission to produce leaders equipped for responsibilities in every sphere of life. He noted that the three-decade-old institution has consistently focused on developing leaders who can tackle contemporary challenges with innovative solutions. The academy’s emphasis on technology and innovation prepares its graduates to face future leadership challenges effectively.
Dr. Mofunanya concluded her address by encouraging the graduands to remain committed to their leadership journey. She urged them to continue seeking innovative ways to serve their communities and to let their creativity shine in all their endeavors. By embracing technology and innovation, the graduands are well-positioned to make significant contributions to society and to lead with excellence in their chosen fields.
