A Much-Needed Upgrade for Thar Roxx
When Mahindra launched the Thar Roxx on August 15, 2024, it made waves in the lifestyle SUV segment. It brought premium features never seen before in an off-road-oriented SUV, such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and a high-end Harman Kardon audio system. However, the sole Ivory White interior theme left many potential buyers hesitant.
Keeping an SUV’s interiors pristine is tough, especially in off-road conditions. The light-colored upholstery, while aesthetically pleasing, proved difficult to maintain. Stains, dust, and grime became major concerns, leading to widespread calls for a darker interior option. Mahindra has now answered those calls.
Mocha Brown Interiors: What’s New?
Mahindra introduced the Mocha Brown interior option exclusively for the 4X4 variants of Thar Roxx in October 2024. The new theme replaces the Ivory White elements with a more practical and stylish brown shade. While the core design remains unchanged, there are key updates:
- The lower dashboard and middle sections of the door trims now feature a dark brown finish.
- Seats come with a dual-tone Black and Mocha Brown combination.
- Leatherette armrests and contrast stitching are now brown instead of white.
- The headliner remains white but is less prone to stains compared to the seats and dashboard.
Bookings for the new interior variant began on October 3, and after a minor delay, deliveries have now commenced. Importantly, Mahindra has kept the price unchanged for this interior update, making it an attractive option for buyers.
No Mechanical Changes, Same Powerful Performance
Aside from the interior update, Mahindra has retained all the features and mechanical components of the Thar Roxx. The SUV continues to offer a choice between two powerful engine options:
