Honor, a Chinese technology company, has launched its new flagship smartphone, the Honor Magic 6 Pro, globally at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. The phone features an innovative eye-tracking AI function that allows users to control their car remotely by just looking at their phone screen. The phone also boasts a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 180 MP telephoto camera, and a 5,600 mAh battery.
Eye-Tracking AI: A Revolutionary Feature
One of the most impressive features of the Honor Magic 6 Pro is the eye-tracking AI function, which uses a 3D depth camera and a Magic Capsule on the top of the screen to track the user’s eye movements and gestures. The function can be used to perform tasks such as opening notifications, switching apps, and adjusting the volume by just looking at the screen. The function can also be used to remotely open and move a car that is compatible with the Honor Magic Link app. The user can simply look at the car icon on the screen and then look at the direction they want the car to move. The function is already available in China and Honor is working to bring it to other markets soon.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: A Powerful Performance
The Honor Magic 6 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is the latest and most advanced processor from Qualcomm. The chipset offers a 20% improvement in CPU performance and a 30% improvement in GPU performance compared to the previous generation. The chipset also supports 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. The phone comes with 12 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, which can be expanded up to 1 TB with a microSD card.
180 MP Telephoto Camera: A Stunning Zoom
The Honor Magic 6 Pro has a quad-camera setup on the back, which includes a 50 MP wide-angle lens, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 180 MP telephoto lens, and a 3D ToF sensor. The 180 MP telephoto lens is one of the first of its kind in the smartphone industry, and it supports 2.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. The lens also has a 10x hybrid zoom mode, which combines optical and digital zoom to produce clear and detailed images. The camera also supports 4K video recording, HDR10+, and AI scene recognition. On the front, the phone has a 50 MP selfie camera, which also supports 4K video recording and face unlock.
5,600 mAh Battery: A Long-Lasting Endurance
The Honor Magic 6 Pro has a 5,600 mAh battery, which is one of the largest in the smartphone market. The battery uses a silicon-carbon anode material, which increases the energy density and reduces the volume of the battery. The battery also supports 80W wired charging and 66W wireless charging, which can fully charge the phone in 35 minutes and 50 minutes respectively. The phone also has a reverse wireless charging feature, which can charge other devices such as earphones and smartwatches.
Other Features: A Premium Design and Experience
The Honor Magic 6 Pro has a 6.8-inch OLED display, which has a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 4320Hz PWM dimming. The display is protected by a NanoCrystal Shield, which is a new glass material that is 10 times stronger than ordinary glass. The phone has a curved design and a metal frame, and it comes in two colors: Black and Epi Green. The Black version has a velvet matte glass back, while the Epi Green version has a ripple classic leather back. The phone also has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a dual stereo speaker system, and a MagicUI 8.0 operating system based on Android 14.
