Nisha Rawal Slams Online Trolls After Viral Video With Son Sparks Backlash

Television actress Nisha Rawal is once again in the headlines—but this time, it’s for something painfully personal. After facing a torrent of online backlash over a video involving her young son, she’s decided to fire back. And she’s not mincing words.

The now-viral clip, taken during a public event in Mumbai, shows her son Kavish touching her chest in a spontaneous moment. What followed was an internet storm—and a sharp response from Nisha that’s now making just as many waves.

A Mother’s Reaction: “Sharam Aani Chahiye”

It was a few seconds. A fleeting moment. Yet it was enough to set social media ablaze.

In March 2025, the video of Nisha and her seven-year-old son, Kavish, attending a public event hit Instagram and X. Nisha, dressed in a bright pink anarkali, stood beside her son in a blue kurta-pyjama. What should have been an ordinary red-carpet appearance turned controversial when Kavish, in a split second, reached toward his mom in what many perceived as “inappropriate behavior.”

Let that sink in—many perceived it that way.

On April 13, Nisha finally addressed the incident at another event. “Sharam aani chahiye un logon ko,” she said, visibly upset. Her comment, roughly translated, called out the shame of those sexualizing a child’s behavior. One sentence. Pure emotion.

The Internet Meltdown: Between Outrage and Support

People didn’t hold back. And the internet did what it does best—divide into two loud camps.

The comment sections became flooded with everything from parenting advice to brutal shaming. Some even speculated about the child’s future behavior in schools, calling the moment “disturbing” and “indicative of poor parenting.” It was harsh, cold, and, many would argue, way out of line.

But there were defenders, too. Loud ones.

“Iss tarah maa bete ka rishta mat badnaam karo,” one comment read. Others called out society’s increasing tendency to sexualize everything, even innocent acts of affection.

  • “Bachche to bache hote hai.”

  • “Mentality is the real issue here.”

  • “She’s his mother, for god’s sake!”

The tone? Frustrated. Exhausted. Tired of the outrage machine.

The Long History of Scrutiny Faced by Celeb Moms

This isn’t new, though. Celebrity mothers—especially single moms—often find themselves under a microscope.

Nisha Rawal’s public journey hasn’t been smooth. From her separation from actor Karan Mehra to raising Kavish largely on her own, she’s had to juggle parenting and public life like walking a tightrope. Every move, every quote, every Instagram Story—picked apart.

And let’s be honest, there’s a double standard at play here. Fathers are lauded for simply “showing up,” while mothers are expected to be perfect, emotionless robots in public.

The pressure is real. The judgment? Unrelenting.

Social Media: Safe Space or Surveillance Trap?

Scroll through the comments, and you’ll start seeing a pattern. People love drama. Outrage gets clicks. Nuance gets ignored.

Videos like this one get dissected in seconds. A blink becomes a headline. And in that rush, the humanity—especially that of a mother and child—gets lost.

It also raises the question: should kids even be part of public profiles?

Some say yes—it’s part of their reality, and shielding them completely is unrealistic. Others argue it opens them up to criticism, as seen here. And let’s not forget, children aren’t old enough to consent to this attention.

But in Nisha’s case, the attention wasn’t about Kavish’s presence. It was about adults projecting disturbing thoughts onto a child’s touch.

That’s the actual issue.

This Isn’t About Just One Video—It’s Bigger

What happened with Nisha isn’t just about her. It’s a reflection of a deeper problem with how society engages with women, mothers, and kids online.

Let’s break it down a bit. Here’s what the public reactions looked like at a glance:

Reaction Type Common Themes Sample Comments
Outrage Inappropriate behavior, parenting failure “Teach your son manners”
Blame Mother should have stopped him “You’re responsible for what he becomes”
Defense Innocent moment, toxic mindset of trolls “He’s just a child!”
Sympathy Criticism of mom-shaming and society’s double standard “Let mothers breathe”

Clearly, this isn’t black and white. It never is. But one thing’s for sure—the internet loves playing judge and jury without context.

Where Does This Leave Nisha—and Other Moms?

Nisha Rawal’s statement may have been short, but it struck a chord.

It also opened a wider debate. About the way we react. About what we project. About what we expect from public figures and their families. The line between criticism and cruelty is thin—and often, crossed without thought.

It’s not easy being a mother, let alone one in the spotlight. And as Nisha continues to handle public scrutiny with grit, the hope is that this episode leaves behind more than just noise. Maybe, just maybe, it can start a conversation that matters.
